Kent was born and raised in Connersville, Indiana. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy for 6 years where he trained and went to school to become a computer technician. It was while he was stationed in Tokyo, Japan that he met his future wife “Hisako”. One year after leaving the Navy, he returned to Japan and was married. They have 2 children, Jennifer who is a special education teacher for Milwaukee Public schools and a son Shane who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance at DePaul University. Kent’s lending experience began shortly after graduating from Indiana University in 1986. He built his business on referrals and repeat customers by bringing value to his clients. His extensive knowledge and expertise of the mortgage industry allows him to provide his clients with the highest level of service and broad range of products ranging from conventional, FHA and VA loans to address the many needs of his clients. As a veteran of the mortgage industry, Kent’s most valued quality is listening to his client’s concerns, wishes and needs. He states that it’s vital to developing the various financing options that will address a customer’s needs now and in the future. Reviewing these options and discussing the pros and cons of each is so important in providing his clients the insight so they can ask questions, reflect and make decisions that are in their best interest. Kent and American Portfolio Mortgage Corporation share a common goal in their commitment to their clients by providing excellent service and a high level of communication.
